O’saah Spotlights: OLDIE BUT GOODIE

April 10, 2020

It’s Friidayyy and a Good one as that. Our Lord and Saviour has got our backs and i believe everyone is doing well.

Today, I decided to do something different. Maybe this is the start of something new, I don’t know yet but I will like to call it Osaah Spotlights. On today’s Edition, I am putting the spotlight on a brand I resonate with, Oldie But Goodie (OBG).

OsaahxOBG 2OBG is a brand about the culture for the culture! It is an emerging streetwear brand founded by a female that seeks to increase Ghanaian and African culture patronage by highlighting cultural moments and paying homage to the African culture we have today. Think of it like History meets Fashion! Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?

The Brand gives me a sense of belonging and still keeps me rooted in culture with the African story designs placed on the simple canvas, a t-shirt. Nothing beats owning your roots with pride.

When I asked the founder, why The “Amammerɛ” Collection, with such ease she said ‘what better way to introduce the brand to the world by putting out a collection about the culture for the culture’.

Even though this is a snippet of what the brand has in store for us, I can’t wait to see what the other collections bring.

Let’s get into the collection.

Inspired by the theme of the year 2019 dubbed The Year of Return, OBG’s maiden collection consists of three t-shirts that sheds light on the Ghanaian culture with the use of Adinkra symbols that represent characteristics of Ghanaians and equally Africans. It also pays homage to our ancestors who paved the way for the celebration of the year to be possible.
